This might be the coolest thing I ever seen in Rossford, well besides Nana’s Home Decor and TipTop dairy bar!!!

I’m weeping
July 6, 2009 at 4:46 am
Can I get a free smoke detector from you guys? I hear the chief of police has a twitter page, is that true?
July 19, 2009 at 9:51 pm
Well, I doubt that there is anything free from the PD except a trip to the county jail, and that’s not really free either. You can get your free smoke detector from the fire department though, courtesy of a grant from the Rossford Eagles. Never heard of a twitter, but there sure has been some “tweeters” lately.

I’m BACK!
July 20, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Now that your back will the “others” start hating us again? I think we should paint the whole city with big smiles on our faces and then hold hands and share hot cider and sing we r the world. Then Rossford would be great again…

RPPA Director Glenn Goss has learned from a source that Councilman Chuck Duricek stated that during an executive session meeting of city council a discussion took place regarding abolishing the Rossford Police Department.
July 28, 2009 at 5:18 pm
But the city said the “love” the police! Why would they say something like that? Are you trying to tell me some one on council may not like the police department and is holding a personal grudge?
August 1, 2009 at 4:34 pm
Lost: One 40+ year old police department. May be spotted trying to fit in with other departments, but will be easily identified by it’s lack of direction and it’s inability to accept progress. If found good luck as the owners don’t want to admit it’s theirs!
August 4, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Hey Glenn whats a “blurp”?
August 6, 2009 at 5:26 pm
Blurp!
A word used to describe the extent of one’s current excitement, frustration or extreme happiness.
August 6, 2009 at 5:27 pm
We’re not looking for the department, we’re looking for adoption!
August 7, 2009 at 3:19 am
Thanks for the clarification. Anybody taking Sylvania test?
August 7, 2009 at 11:04 pm
I was wondering how to get a public records request for the ammount of toilet paper the city uses as the whole place seems to be full of S#@t!!!
August 9, 2009 at 9:15 am
These question are for the the citizens of Rossford and/or the city administration it is not for the members of the Rossford PPA. I am wondering why the police chief refuses to talk to tax paying citizens of this town that have questions and concerns? I have also been informed that he was forbidden to talk to citizens of the town buy someone in the administration, however they are not allowed to say who. What i want to know is why?
August 9, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I would suggest that you ask a city official why you are being limited access to the very sources in which you should always be able to communicate with.
August 12, 2009 at 3:51 pm
They say it takes 7 additional lies to cover up 1 originating lie. I believe Rossford needs Stephen Hawking to do the math on how many the City administraition has going!!!
August 19, 2009 at 6:20 pm
how many patrolmen do you have?If you read the website it appears that no one gets along..who is to blame
August 28, 2009 at 12:20 am
When is the next get2gether at the pigpen?
August 28, 2009 at 7:07 pm
Not sure when the next event will be. It’s hard to have them when everyone is working all of the time.
August 28, 2009 at 7:09 pm
We have 8 officers and 3 sergeants. Less than the number of police officers available in the 1970′s.
August 28, 2009 at 7:45 pm
11 cops???? My kids school has more hall monitors than that! Homer, I’m no cop but my guess they all have to follow somebody’s lead…
September 9, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Nice Job on that victory for the OPBA and the RPPA!
September 9, 2009 at 5:29 pm
Do you guys file a grievenance for everything? If I was gonna move in this town and decided to look at this site I would assume that you do more crying than working..Is it the chief or the administration or just you?
September 10, 2009 at 6:31 am
Interesting take on what you may see from the outside. On the inside however, we see fairly constant contract violations. The grieavance process is a legal and professional way to address & remedy these violations, but is considered “argumentative” by some. Rossford police unions would enjoy an atmosphere in which no grievances had to be filed, but that is v irtually impossible when bosses interpret their own meanings & purposes into agreements that have been understood and maintained status quo for years. This forces the union to propose contract language changes during negotiations and to file grievances in between. As you can see, by reviewing arbitration, concilliation & fact-finding results, the labor contract may have historical significance. Biblically speaking, the Book of Revelations reads: Lyou shall not add to this book or all of the plagues within shall be added to you. You shall not subtract from this book or your name will be subtracted from the book of life.” The low morale and time-consuming grievance process is a plague that is self initiated by management personnel who have not considered that employees are the backbone of the operation. When the names of employees are subtracted from the lists of wages, benefits, fairness and respect; those who have subtracted the employees from basic needs & contractual rights find their names are also subtracted from the book of respect as well. Officers with more experience in law enforcement and in Rossford government are ignored, lied to and talked about when they really should be appreciated by their employers.

Homer, good call to bad your still a dumbass! Enjoy Your stay in Rossford…
September 10, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Mitch apparently you like hgh school because thats how they act….wanna result to name calling thats pretty cool…just questions but i think you need to wake up…
September 13, 2009 at 4:08 pm
Homer it’s a good thing you won’t move into rossford. As far as i can tell you’d fit in with the rest of the short-sided cowards who hide behind incompetance and stupidity to make decisions that ultimatly effect peoples lives and families. Not to mention the lack of understanding of performing one of the toughest jobs in the world that these officers do.
September 14, 2009 at 1:56 am
well mitch you must be a no it all…and you are right why would I want to move in the city when I wolud have to worry about my families well being..i would be worried about you not wanting to work and hiding behind your union…Think as me as you will im not incompetent nor stupid..I was simply asking questions that I thought were attiquite….Im not sure why you decided to take offense..It just seems that the force does everything to fight the city..I am an outsider looking in..What would you think if you were me?like i said name calling is for high school..Glenn answered my questions and I found them quite interesting….And for your info cops put it all on the line every night and day 24 7 how can you not respect them?
October 1, 2009 at 11:39 pm
Homer, I see the frustraition in these officers as they drive around that city. I think the latest posting that shows only 17 poeple showed up to take a test with good money and benefits in this day and age must say something for the city? I can’t seem to find any other culprit for such a low turnout other than peolpe are avoid the city of Rossford at all levels. The population ain’t growing like surrounding areas…
October 2, 2009 at 3:40 pm
You would think that maybe, with the current state of the economy, many more people would have showed up to take a civil service test. Many of the people who took the test before must have had reservations being that there was so much confusion over hiring practices. Many people don’t want to pay to get hired. It’s unusual to charge for an application – who knows? Hopefully, a good person with a professional attitude is hired.

Pull the trigger Greg!
October 29, 2009 at 12:19 am
Looks Like the City can’t decide If they have money or not. Too bad poor politics and even worse decision making by officals has left Rossford a bad joke no one even calls a city anymore. Those people speaking in the article should be fired for their inability to function properly. If it was a private company they would have been exposed and fired long ago.
November 14, 2009 at 6:31 pm
I’m No doctor, but somebody needs to let Rossford know they need to pull the plug. The decades of the polish mafia attempting to act like intelligent city officals is over! Pull back the curtain and show what is really going on all ready! Seriously The world knows your still using city tax money and levies to pay for the “Disgrace at the Crossroads!”
November 24, 2009 at 8:30 pm
I guess Rossford PD’s 2 officer that are members of the SRT (county-wide SWAT team) have been asked to consider an alternative pay system that would violate the contract. This would create the same problem we dealt with before. By the way, a fact-finder, conciliator, & arbitrator all ruled in favor of the union. Not sure why we re-hash the same issue over & over again.
